No, your child does not need to have any previous martial arts or self defence experience or training. The course is perfect for absolute beginners!
Can parents stay and watch the training?
Absolutely! Not only does this mean that you can help your child with any questions after the session has ended, but you will also learn a lot just by watching! However if you do need to leave we just ask that you return to the training hall 10 minutes before the end of the session to ensure you are on time to collect your child.
What do you cover on the courses?
The courses are a mixture of physical skills training and presentations on certain subjects.
On the children’s course we cover situational awareness, fear control, how to handle a threatening situation and self defence and the law.
The teenager’s course covers conflict management techniques, edged weapon awareness and the law.
The bulk of both courses focusses on teaching easy to learn and effective self defence techniques.

Will my child be training on their own?
No your child will not be training alone on the course. All attendees train with a partner, so we will pair your child up with another child on the course. It’s a great way for your child to make new friends!
However, many of the children who join our courses attend with a friend so that they can do the course together. This helps the children feel more comfortable and settle into the course much faster.
We would need the contact details of your child’s friend in order to book them onto the course.
